Gianni Infantino re-elected as Fifa president

Infantino re-elected as Fifa president for four more years

Gianni Infantino, the present president of Fifa, has been granted another four-year term as the head of the global football governing body after being re-elected.

Following his succession of Sepp Blatter in 2016, Infantino secured his position in 2019, and now he will continue to oversee Fifa until 2027 uncontested.

At the 73rd Fifa Congress in Kigali, Rwanda, Infantino expressed his appreciation and acknowledged the weight of his responsibility, stating, “It is a tremendous honor and privilege, as well as a significant obligation.”

“I promise to continue serving Fifa and football around the world. To those that love me, and I know there are many, and those who hate me … I love you all.”
