Dhillon is a practicing lawyer and the founder of Dhillon Law Group Inc. She was a founding member of the nonprofit Center for American Liberty, which undertakes civil rights legal work.

She served as the RNC’s vice chairwoman for California and is now a member of the RNC’s National Committeewomen for California.

Dhillon ran for a seat in the California State Assembly in 2008. She only received 17% of the vote in the historically Democratic district, which was not enough to win the campaign.

In 2012, she made another unsuccessful bid for the California Senate. She was the head of the local Republican Party in San Francisco.

Dhillon was elected to the board of the California Republican Party in 2013 and was made an RNC national committeewoman in 2016.

Dhillon announced her bid to succeed Ronna McDaniel as head of the Republican National Committee in December 2022.

They tied the knot in front of her relatives and closest friends in a lovely ceremony in February  2011.
