NPP paying GHC200 for vote transfer to Upper East – Edward Bawa alleges

Member of Parliament(MP) for Bongo Constituency in the Upper East Region Edward Bawa is alleging that the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the Constituency is giving out GHC200 each to students in the various training institutions in order to get them to transfer their votes to other constituencies.

According to him, the students are being told that they do not need to appear at the polling station to come and vote on December 7, 2020.

To him, this is bad precedence been set by the New Patriotic Party(NPP) and must not be condoned.

He, therefore, warned individuals who will be used as proxies for these students that their safety in his Constituency cannot be guaranteed if they agree to do the bidding of the NPP.

The lawmaker in a Facebook post sighted by mynewsghana.net said “NPP went into our training institutions and encouraged people to transfer their votes to various constituencies in upper east. They were given GH 200. these students have been told that they don’t need to appear and vote on Dec 7. Let me send a warning to persons who would be used as proxies for such students. Ur safety in Bongo can’t be guaranteed”.
